On March 16th, a Tuesday afternoon students emerged from Central High School ready to move on with the rest of the day. For many, the school day would end in tragedy.

Witnesses say it appeared that a young man was pushed into traffic and struck by oncoming traffic. While the city vehicle that hit the 17year old junior didn't appear to be speeding, the impact was enough to end short the life of this community member. At the intersection of Lexington and Selby just a couple blocks south of the school a flag and balloon mark the place where a life has been lost.

It is unclear whether it was horseplay or a fight that caused the push. What is clear is that news of this terrible loss spread through the community swiftly and is having a great impact on St. Paul Central and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Prayers go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
