There has been a growing debate on the use and study of vaccination. Many people in the alternative medicine have been ringing the warning bells on the use and overuse of vaccination. There is a very credible and reasonable disagreement that is being muted and shoved out of sight. There is also alot of research that is coming out that shows vaccines do have serious side affects, some of them fatal.
9,000 reports of adverse reactions to HPV Vaccine alone. The HPV vaccine, Gardasil, is a new vaccine by Merck that is claimed to prevent cervical cancer. To force girls very young to mandatorily take a vaccine for a disease that is not that high, and can be prevented with responsible behavior - is problematic. To make it mandatory is to put alot of girls at risk and endangering their bodies to serious side affects of vaccines. People will cite you can opt out, but it is not that easy for those who wish not to vaccinate to opt out. And immigrants cannot opt out.
Recently, the government released a study which denies Gardasil vaccine risks. In response to this denial, Barbara Loe Fisher, the co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) made the following statement. Watch the short youtube video.

"Transparency in government is essential to trust in government and replication is the hallmark of good science," said NVIC co-founder and president Barbara Loe Fisher. "Parents of young girls and women cut down in their prime - some of them paralyzed or dead within hours or days of getting Gardasil vaccine - deserve better answers than a whitewashing of this vaccine's very serious side effects."
In 2007, Merck lobbied in many states for Gardasil vaccine but failed in most.
However, many refugees or immigrants to the US are forced to take the vaccine.

The overuse of vaccine is affecting many immigrants including the Somali community.

There is a strong denial that there is a link between autism and vaccines. However, early this year in an interview on CBS News, former NIH Director Dr. Bernandine Healy said you cannot deny that there is a link between autism and vaccines. "I think you can't say that," Healy said. "You can't say that." Watch the full interview.

As Fisher says regarding the government denying the Gardasil risks, "Until there is an independent confirmation of these unverified findings by individuals and companies without financial ties to the government or industry, it is not credible."
We need to go beyond denial and call for transparency.
