Stewart Mills has filed new campaign paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission, setting up a rematch against Rep. Rick Nolan in Minnesota's Eighth Congressional in 2016.

Mills confirmed the filing of the campaign paperwork and added that an official announcement may come next week. Mills announced last month that he was forming an exploratory committee for a possible rematch with Nolan.

Nolan defeated Mills by less than 4,000 votes in one of the most hotly contested congressional races in 2014.

Nolan announced in July he would seek re-election to a third term in 2016.
