A congressional hearing by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee convened to learn more about a recent security breach at the White House turned into a commercial for ADT Security Systems. Congressman John Mica (R-FL) held up a sign for ADT and asked U.S. Secret Service Director Julia Pierson, "have you ever heard of these guys? This is not very costly. You could subscribe."
The Associated Press reported about the hearing, which was very contentious. I watch the entire hearing and I don't believe ADT will be a part of any new security measures at the White House. But Congressman Mica did effectively deliver the message that security changes are needed - quickly.
