Have you ever wanted to go to a beer fest and try exclusively rare beers? This is an option now with tickets for Northern Lights Beer Fest at the Minnesota History Center going on sale today at noon for the price tag of $100. This may seem like a lot but you get a meal catered by Bon Appetit, world class beer poured by 30 breweries, 10 of which are local plus live music. Not to mention this event is being held at the beautiful Minnesota History Center located in St. Paul.

This is all going down on Saturday, March 29th from 7 PM to 10 PM and portion of the proceeds will be going to Pints for Prostates, an organization founded by beer writer and prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke in 2008.

"This is the first year for the Northern Lights fest," said organizers Juno Choi and Mark Opdahl of Chop Liver LLC, "and we're very excited because it will be unlike any other beer event in the area. It will be a great chance to try some really unique, maybe even once in a lifetime, beers." In fact some of these brews are so rare that you won't be able to find them anywhere around town.

"These aren't beers you're going to be able to go out and buy off the shelf or on tap at a pub," according to Choi. "These are limited availability, vintage bottles from a past release, and in some cases brewed specifically for the fest."

You can get your tickets online here, at Elevated Beer Wine and Spirits in Minneapolis, or at The Four Firkins in St. Louis Park where Mark and Juno will be on hand to chat it up from 6 PM till 9 PM. Designated driver tickets are only $20 which includes NA beverages, live music, and a meal.
