It started as a dream for the humble Bloomington native Zac Triemert. The brewer of Lucky Bucket Brewing Company recently came to Minnesota to introduce his beer in his hometown. "It's an amazing experience," Zac said "to be here with family and with friends I haven't seen since high school."

Zac certainly was not lacking any friends as he mingled with numerous people at Lucky's 13 Pub in Bloomington for Lucky Bucket's bottle launch in early June. Zac and his entourage (Jason and Holly) set the mood with their genuine smiles and friendly personalities, making even new friends feel like old ones. Representatives from the distributor (Phillips) happily answered any questions people had regarding which liquor stores would be carrying their product.

Lucky Bucket produces 3 varieties of beer, all of which are now available in bottles here in Minnesota. The Pre-Prohibition Lager isn't the typical corn and rice Lager commonly associated with the American beer palette. It's a great drinking beer that you could keep in your fridge at all times and would be an excellent choice on any camping trip. This brew has a lot of flavor but is still light enough so you can have a few and still pick up a date.

The IPA is sure to satisfy the "hopheads" out there with its fruity, floral aroma and its slightly bitter finish. It's well balanced and the beautiful amber color adds to its charm. This beer stands up to any in its class and will impress even the harshest of critics. It's definitely a beer that is designed by a brewer for a beer lover.

Certified Evil defies all beer categories but most closely compares to a Russian Imperial Stout with a lighter more Porter-like body. This is the type of beer that separates one brewer from another. "It's a big beer with a lot of depth," according to the brew master, Zac. Certified Evil's flavor is created by aging it in wine barrels which add a subtle vanilla flavor and it tips the ABV scale at 10 % (alcohol content).

The launch was a night full of joy and laughter, and it ended with an expedient trip to the photo booth for the Lucky Bucket crew. Lucky Bucket is planning to launch their draught program in Minnesota on June 24th and 25th; so scrap your current plans and do not miss your chance to be one of the first in the state to try a Pre-Prohibition Lager on tap. The Blue Nile (Franklin and Cedar) in Minneapolis will be hosting a launch event on June 24th from 6 to 10 pm. Lucky Bucket will also be at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest on June 25th from 2 to 6 pm.

Welcome home Zac and welcome to Minnesota, Lucky Bucket. Slainte Mhath!
