A father is suspected of killing his 6-month-old son Saturday at the family's home in Eden Prairie, a city spokeswoman said.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, said spokeswoman Katie Beal.
How the child was killed was not revealed, but Beal said that no weapon was used.
Police were called to the home in the 17000 block of Evenston Road about 5:30 p.m., and found the child unresponsive. Efforts were made to revive him before he was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he died, Beal said.
She added that the mother was home when police arrived, and she is not in custody.
