Eden Prairie man, 47, died as result of injuries in head-on crash Friday

Last update: November 23, 2009 - 9:27 PM

An Eden Prairie man killed in a two-car crash Friday night died as a result of the accident, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Monday.

Eden Prairie police were investigating whether a medical condition killed Jeffrey Harstad, 47, before the crash on Flying Cloud Drive near Prairie Center Drive.

But in a statement, the medical examiner's office said Harstad died of multiple blunt-force injuries in an accident.

About 6:25 p.m. Friday, a car going south on Flying Cloud crossed into the northbound lanes and hit another car head-on, said Sgt. Maggie Munro. The driver of the northbound car was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, she said, and two juvenile passengers were not hurt.
