A disabled man getting a massage was robbed and kicked in the groin at a Bloomington apartment, according to charges filed Friday in Hennepin County District Court.
Obryan Lamar Young of Richfield and Paris Andre Curtis Campbell of Bloomington each are charged with a felony count of first-degree aggravated robbery. They were being held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A court date was set for Monday.
The criminal complaint identifies four people who shared the proceeds of the robbery: the apartment holder, Young, Campbell and the woman giving the massage, identified only as Amber, who said she is Young's stepsister.
The complaint said the victim was in the metro area for a doctor's appointment and set up a massage by calling a phone number he found on the Internet. He was told to go to the 9700 block of Blaisdell Avenue.
The man undressed and was confronted by Young, who took his wallet, cell phone and car keys while demanding his money, the complaint said. The man got mad and began shaking his cane at Young and asking for his property back. That's when Campbell walked in and when Young kicked the man in the groin, the complaint said, adding that a bruise could be seen several days later.
The victim called police from a nearby gas station. He later identified Young and Campbell in photo arrays, according to the complaint.
