West metro police blotter

CHASKA

WEEK OF OCT. 5

Drunken driving. An officer stopped a vehicle on Engler Boulevard that was crossing the lane lines. The female driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while intoxicated and minor consumption of alcohol.

Underage drinking. Police responded to a complaint of a loud party at a home on Manuela Drive. Officers cited nine juveniles for consumption, and one juvenile who lives at the home was also charged with violating the social host ordinance.

CORCORAN

OCT. 4

Fire. Police responded to an appliance fire call at a home on the 9900 block of County Road 101. The caller said the residents were filling up an aquarium and it overflowed. When they tried to unplug it, they were shocked. An officer determined there was no fire in the home and the main power was turned off.

Welfare check. An officer responded to a 911 hang-up call at a home on the 21300 block of Larkin Road. The officer determined a juvenile had lost track of his parents, who were outside. All parties were fine.

EDINA

OCT. 22

Theft. Someone entered five vehicles on the 6000 and 6100 blocks of Lincoln Drive and stole items such as keys, a cell phone, a fishing pole and reel, and a global positioning system. Four of the five vehicles had not been locked.

OCT. 24

Aggravated robbery. A woman from the 5900 block of Abbott Avenue left her house to take the garbage out. As she reached the garbage can, a man appeared and demanded money. She told him she had no money, and he struck her on the face and fled, police said.

Burglary. Someone broke into a home on the 3800 block of 57th Street W. and stole miscellaneous items valued at $1,260.

EXCELSIOR

OCT. 5

Drunken driving. Police stopped a vehicle driving erratically on Wheeler Drive and 3rd Avenue. A 21-year-old Eden Prairie woman was arrested for drunken driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. According to police reports, 2 1/2 hours later, a man came to pick up the woman and he was drunk. The 23-year-old Eden Prairie man also was arrested for drunken driving.

SEPT. 29

Missing property. Police received a report that three saddles had fallen off of a trailer on Hwy. 55. Two saddles were recovered; one was still missing.

SEPT. 30

Theft. Someone from the 300 block of Clydesdale Trail called police to report that 900 hockey pucks were missing from a vehicle.

MAPLE GROVE

OCT. 9

Theft. A person from the 9300 block of Upland Lane gave a friend $800 cash to deposit at the bank. The only thing that was deposited was an empty envelope, according to police reports.

OCT. 9

Drunken driving. Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on County Road 44. A 26-year-old Lakeville man was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

SHOREWOOD

OCT. 2

Curfew violation. Someone called police to report that there were several suspicious vehicles in a vacant lot on the 5500 block of Howard's Point Road. Officers found three vehicles and four girls, who said they were toilet-papering a friend's house. Police found 221 rolls of toilet paper in the vehicles. The girls were cited for curfew violation and released to their parents.
