CHASKA

WEEK OF SEPT. 28

Drugs. An officer stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 41 for driving without headlights on, and police said the male driver had drug paraphernalia and marijuana. A passenger in the vehicle had an anxiety attack and vomited, and the driver was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while the passenger was taken to a hospital, police said.

EDEN PRAIRIE

SEPT. 18

Burglary. A computer system and equipment were reported stolen from a business on the 12000 block of Plaza Drive.

EXCELSIOR

SEPT. 24

Suspicious activity. Someone called police to report that suspicious men were walking around outside a home on the 200 block of Morse Avenue. Police found the two men, who said they were looking at the house and were interested in purchasing it at a sheriff's sale.

SEPT. 26

Safety concern. Police were called to Water Street because a woman with a child was driving a golf cart on the shoulders of Hwys. 7 and 41. Officers found the woman and told her it was unsafe to drive on the shoulder after dark. She was given a warning.

SEPT. 28

Possible burglary. Someone called police to report a possible burglary on the 200 block of Morse Avenue. The caller reported hearing what sounded like someone sneezing upstairs and people whispering. Police searched the home and found nothing.

HOPKINS

SEPT. 26

Theft. Someone reportedly stole musical instruments and an amplifier from the garage of a home on the 300 block of 5th Avenue N.

SEPT. 21

Traffic complaint. Someone called 911 to complain about a person driving on Hwy. 12 and turning onto County Road 90. The caller said the driver was stopping even where signs were posted warning: "TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP."

MAPLE PLAIN

SEPT. 21

Domestic. Officers were called to a home on the 1500 block of Howard Avenue. Police said they found an extremely intoxicated 42-year-old man. He was taken to a detox facility.

SEPT. 24

Fire. Police were called to an apartment building on the 5200 block of Bryantwood Drive because someone smelled smoke. Police arrived and found the entire second floor filled with smoke. Maple Plain Fire Rescue evacuated the building. A 25-year-old man had fallen asleep while cooking rice on the stove and awoke to pounding on his door, police said.

MEDINA

SEPT. 19

Illegal fireworks. Police received a complaint of fireworks being set off on the 100 block of Loretto Street. Officers found five juveniles and issued them a warning.

Theft. A woman drove off without paying for $15 worth of gas at a station on the 4300 block of Hwy. 55. The woman said she pumped the gas and then swiped her credit card. The officer informed her she needed to swipe her credit card before pumping the gas. She returned to pay.

SHOREWOOD

SEPT. 25

Welfare check. Police responded to a call regarding a man sleeping in a hallway in front of Shorewood Liquor West, 23670 Hwy. 7. Officers found the man and he was intoxicated. He was taken to a detox facility.
