Two hospitalized after house blaze in Mayer

A middle-of-the-night house fire in the southwest metro sent two residents to the hospital, authorities said Friday.

The blaze broke out in a home in the 7700 block of Tacoma Avenue in Mayer shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, the Carver County Sheriff's Office said.

The two injured adult residents were taken to Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The house was heavily damaged, the Sheriff's Office said.

A cause for the blaze is being investigated.
