Motorcyclists, firefighters to highlight funeral in Long Lake

Last update: July 20, 2009 - 12:26 PM

Motorcyclists and firefighters will make up a significant portion of a funeral procession in Long Lake for Mike Brown.

Brown, a 65-year-old retired Long Lake Fire Department member and its chief at one time, was killed in a collision of motorcycles last Wednesday in western Hennepin County as he and fellow riders were embarking on a trip out West.

Brown's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at St. George's Catholic Church in Long Lake, starting with visitation at 9:30 a.m. Following the 10:30 service, the procession will head to the church cemetery for burial. Among the participants will be Brown's motorcycle group and fellow firefighters. Afterward, mourners will gather at Long Lake Fire Station No. 1 for lunch.
