Fraud. Someone used counterfeit bills to buy $10 worth of merchandise at a rummage sale on 3rd Avenue.

APRIL 29

Assist public. Officers responded to a report of a child locked inside a vehicle in the 8400 block of Greenfield Road. After they proved unable to unlock the vehicle, the owner contacted OnStar and it was unlocked by remote control.

INDEPENDENCE

APRIL 28

Traffic complaint. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle going all over the road at Highway 12 and County Road 90. They made contact with the 28-year-old driver, who stated she had missed her methadone appointment and wanted to get home before she went into withdrawal.

LORETTO

MAY 1

Property damage. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the mud at the bottom of a sledding hill at Camp Ihduhapi, 3425 Ihduhapi Trail. They located a 16-year-old Medina boy and a 16-year-old Corcoran boy walking down a path. The boys told officers they had decided to cruise around and drove onto the walking path and down the sledding hill, where they got stuck. Their parents were contacted and charges were pending.

MAPLE GROVE

APRIL 25

Theft. Golf clubs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 18000 block of 68th Place.

Animal complaint. A resident reported that a raccoon was on the roof of a house and digging a hole in the 11000 block of 100th Place. Officers took the animal safely back into the woods.

APRIL 27

Suspicious activity. Someone reported that a vehicle was pulling in and out of driveways in the 10300 block of 93rd Avenue. Officers found that the driver was delivering newspapers.

APRIL 28

Animal complaint. A resident reported a snapping turtle was stuck for several days in the yard of their home in the 7700 block of Niagara Lane. Officers safely took the turtle back to the pond.

APRIL 30

Underage consumption. An 18-year-old New Hope woman was cited for underage consumption of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia, following a traffic stop at 36th Avenue and Lancaster Lane.

RICHFIELD

APRIL 26

Drugs. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 6600 block of Nicollet Avenue S. A 31-year-old Hopkins man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and a 29-year-old St. Paul woman was arrested for giving false information to police.

APRIL 27

Drugs. A 22-year-old Shakopee man was cited for possession of marijuana after he was stopped for a burned-out headlight at 67th Street E. and Portland Avenue S.

APRIL 28

Theft. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from an apartment parking lot in the 7600 block of Aldrich Avenue S.

Disturbance. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 7700 block of Nicollet Avenue S. They determined that one man had tried to punch another and had dumped a soda can all over him. No arrest was reported.

Theft. A firearm was stolen from a home in the 6300 block of 15th Avenue S.
