Theft. Loose gem stones, valued at $12,000, were stolen from a vehicle on the 7200 block of Washington Avenue.

MARCH 25

Drugs. A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Valley View Road and Hwy. 169.

MARCH 26

Underage consumption. A 19-year-old Edina man was arrested for underage consumption on the 5100 block of Lincoln Circle.

EXCELSIOR

MARCH 24

Drugs. An 18-year-old Chaska man was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Second Street and Mill Street.

INDEPENDENCE

MARCH 29

Animal complaint. A resident from the 1100 block of County Road 83 reported a woodchuck was stuck in an egress window of his home. He wanted an officer to come and shoot it. An officer explained they would not fire a weapon into a confined space near an occupied dwelling and suggested the resident use a fishing net and scoop the animal out if it's not posing an immediate threat to human life. It was also suggested to cover the egress window to prevent animal access.

MARCH 30

Animal complaint. Someone reported six goats were in among some trees just off the roadway on the 9000 block of Hwy. 12. Officers located the owner of the goats, who arrived to pick them up.

Traffic complaint. Officers responded to County Rds. 6 and 110 on a report that a pickup truck was weaving back and forth and crossing over the lines. Officers observed the same behavior and stopped the vehicle. The driver said he was swaying to the music on the radio and apologized. He hadn't realized he crossed over the lines. There were no signs of impairment.

MARCH 23

Weapon. Someone reported seeing a person with a tan holster and black gun at County Rds. 30 and 81. Officers located the suspect and found it was a cowhide holder with a black umbrella.

MARCH 24

Theft. A 2002 Honda Accord was stolen from a driveway on the 13000 block of 90th Place. The vehicle had been left running. It was later found in another city.

MAPLE PLAIN

MARCH 30

Suspicious activity. Officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the police station, 1918 County Road 90. The driver and passenger advised they were playing Pokemon Go.

PLYMOUTH

MARCH 31

Drunken driving. A 63-year-old Plymouth woman was arrested for drunken driving after officers were responding to a report of an altercation on the 9700 block of 28th Avenue N.

RICHFIELD

MARCH 28

Robbery. An Uber driver reported a male passenger who implied that he had a knife and stole the driver's wallet on the 6200 block of 4th Avenue S. The suspect, a 44-year-old Richfield man, was later found and arrested.

TONKA BAY

MARCH 28

Suspicious activity. Officers responded to Birch Bluff Road on a report of juveniles throwing things in the water at Crescent Beach. Officers located the juveniles and learned they were skipping rocks.
