$500,000 bail for woman charged in death of boyfriend's brother

Bail was set at $500,000 Wednesday for a woman charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder, accused of helping her boyfriend and his sister kill their brother before burning his body in a rural Minnesota fire pit.

Kristina Dorniden, 29, of Robbinsdale, remained in the Anoka County jail Wednesday.

Bail will be set later this week for Dorniden's boyfriend, Andrew Hawes, 36, and his sister, Elizabeth Hawes, 43.

The three are accused of plotting the death of Edwin Hawes, 46, who was allegedly shot with a crossbow, beaten with a bat and run over at his Andover home before his body was taken across the state and thrown into a firepit. Hawes was identified by dental records.

Authorities say a longstanding family feud over money and accusations of embezzlement from the family business were motives.
