Authorities believe Pierre Collins' e-mail account has information and evidence related to the death of his 10-year-old son, according to a search warrant application filed Thursday.

Early in the investigation into the disappearance of Barway Collins, Crystal police said Pierre Collins and an "uncle" were the last known people to see the boy. Barway was last seen outside his Crystal apartment home on March 18.

Although prosecutors have said Pierre Collins acted alone, the document says the Crystal man and the "uncle" could have communicated through Collins' Yahoo! e-mail account.

Earlier this week, another search warrant filed for a Dell laptop found under a couch in the Collins family's apartment revealed information about Pierre's bank account.

His personal bank account had $6,000 withdrawn from it in a period of less than a month before he reported his son missing.

The day Barway disappeared, Collins checked his account balance at a TCF Bank inside Cub Foods, authorities say. Investigators later found a receipt in his car showing that a month earlier, the account had a balance of about $6,000.

Collins was arrested on April 13, two days after the boy's body, bound with duct tape, was recovered from the Mississippi River. Collins is in the Hennepin County jail, charged with second-degree murder. His next court appearance is May 14.
