An apparent murder-suicide at a Carver County home claimed the lives of a woman whose body was found in a waterfowl decoy bag and a man discovered dead in the garage, authorities said Thursday.

The bodies of Mylo W. Leistiko, 51, and Lanaea Ann Harrison, 23, were found late Wednesday afternoon at their home in the 900 block of Preserve Boulevard in Norwood Young America, according to the Sheriff's Office. The two had been involved in a romantic relationship, said Sheriff Jim Olson.

"All preliminary information suggests the incident would best be described as a murder-suicide," a Sheriff's Office statement read. "The evidence found at the scene indicates Leistiko shot and killed Harrison and placed her body in a waterfowl decoy bag before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life."

The two are thought to have died on Wednesday. Harrison had been shot in the head.

Law enforcement officers have been called to the home "a half-dozen times" since 2007 on reports of theft, child custody disputes and other concerns, said Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the home shortly after 5 p.m. by a man who said he was a housemate.
