A Coon Rapids man has been charged with felony criminal vehicular homicide after the death of a passenger in his car who was injured in a crash last month.

Kyle Wold, 19, was charged Friday with felony criminal vehicular homicide related to the Nov. 22 crash, in which he hit another vehicle, fatally injuring his passenger. The 20-year-old man, identified as B.R.S., died four days later, authorities say.

B.R.S. was on life support after the crash and doctors said he would die when removed from it, according the charging document. Another passenger in Wold's car also was severely injured, the document said. A third passenger, 17, suffered stomach lacerations.

When officers arrived at the scene, Wold said, "I'm drunk. I'm in a lot of trouble. Arrest me, I was driving."

He already had been charged with two counts of felony criminal vehicular operation. The driver of the vehicle hit by him was recently taken off a ventilator and has a fractured scapula and a serious head injury.

Wold told officers he had a couple of beers and four to five shots of Jim Beam before leaving a party about 2 a.m. He was driving west on 131st Avenue NW. and was unable to stop at a light at Coon Creek Drive because he was speeding, the complaint said. He then T-boned the other car.

His next court appearance will be Wednesday.
