MnDOT reopens Schmidt Lake Road
Schmidt Lake Road under Interstate 494, between Northwest Boulevard and Cheshire Parkway, has reopened after being closed Aug. 3 as part of the I-494 construction project.
The state Department of Transportation reopened the road, but construction work will continue on Schmidt Lake Road and I-494 as crews continue to widen the 494 bridge over the roadway.

Church to host fall festival Sept. 13
The Church of the Epiphany in Plymouth will host a fall festival for families Sept. 13.
The event, which is open to the public, includes food and entertainment from 1 to 7 p.m. at the church, which is located at 4900 Nathan Lane in Plymouth.
The event will include a bounce house for kids, games, prizes, face painting, henna, a live and silent auction and bingo.

Center for the Arts to host faculty show
The Minnetonka Center for the Arts will host a faculty show Sept. 2 to 20, kicking off the fall session of visual arts classes.
The opening reception for the show will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the center, 2240 North Shore Dr., Wayzata.
The event is free and open to the public. Those who attend can meet the instructors and view the art, which is available to buy.
The center’s visual arts classes, which run for eight weeks, began Sept. 2 in art history, ceramics, drawing, fiber arts, glass, jewelry, painting, digital photography and sculpture.
