Bodey to be principal at Glen Lake school
The Hopkins School District has hired Jason Bodey to serve as principal of Glen Lake Elementary. He will succeed Beth Potter, who is retiring after 38 years in education.
Bodey comes to Hopkins after six years with the Minnetonka School District as an assistant principal. Earlier, he served as an administrative dean in the Bloomington district and as a science teacher at Robbinsdale and Crossroads Alternative High School.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University, as well as a master’s degree in education and an educational administration license from St. Mary’s University in Winona. He is currently working toward his doctorate of education through St. Mary’s.
Moch is principal of Hilltop Primary
Michael Moch has been hired as principal of Hilltop Primary School in Minnetrista.He replaces Nancy Benz, who served as principal for seven years before accepting a position with Eden Prairie schools.
Moch most recently worked as a fourth-grade teacher at Orono Intermediate School. Before that, he was principal at Holy Name of Jesus School in Wayzata for two years and spent 10 years as a teacher and principal at St. John the Baptist School in Excelsior.
Moch holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in business administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He earned his master’s degree and administrative licensure through St. Mary’s University in Winona.
Moch and his wife, Ann, live in Mound with their three children, Kate, Jack and Bryn.
Online school hosts information session
MTS Minnesota Connections Academy, a tuitionfree, online K-12 public school, will host an information session on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Minneapolis West in Plymouth.
Families can meet with Connections Academy faculty, explore curriculum, and learn about enrollment. Other topics will include: how teachers interact with students in the virtual environment; personalized learning opportunities, including options for accelerated learning and gifted programs; college preparation; socialization; parents’ role and the use of technology.
