A concept plan to remake Wayzata's lakefront area is headed for a final vote from the City Council on Tuesday.

After getting feedback and ideas from the community over the past two years, the council will vote on the 10-year vision for how the lakefront area could be transformed to boost revenue, tourism and access to the lake for pedestrians, bikers and boaters by adding features such as docks, a pier and a lake walk.

At a March 4 meeting reviewing the Wayzata Lake Effect plans, council members said the vote is for overall ideas, not each element or specific spending.

"This is chalking the lines of what we could do," Council Member Andrew Mullin said at the meeting.

Added Council Member Bridget Anderson: "These are just concepts and a framework … by no means is this set in stone."
