The Lake Minnetonka Association is looking for a new executive director.

Dick Osgood announced his resignation last week after 15 years of leading the nonprofit membership organization for Lake Minnetonka lakeshore owners and businesses.

During his tenure, the association conducted successful treatments to reduce Eurasian watermilfoil — a nuisance invasive plant — in several lake bays. That work is scheduled to continue in 2014.

Osgood also authored scientific journal papers, made hundreds of presentations at professional meetings, and worked with volunteer Bay Captains to preserve and protect Lake Minnetonka.

Osgood will remain with the association on a part-time basis as needed until a new leader has been chosen.

Another organization, the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, regulates activities and uses on the lake through appointed board members representing the 14 cities around it.
