Crews have repaired a fiber cut Saturday that left hundreds of Twin Cities Sprint customers unable to make phone calls for more than two hours.

Sprint spokeswoman Stephanie Vinge Walsh said she didn't know the cause of the fiber cut, but confirmed that no cell towers were down and crews had repaired the fiber about 2½ hours later Saturday afternoon.

"It was a short-lived outage, thankfully," she said.

Sprint customers in the Twin Cities were unable to access voice service from about 8:45 a.m. to 11:20 a.m., she said, but could continue to text or use data service.
