A body wrapped in a bedsheet was discovered shortly before noon Tuesday behind an industrial building and near railroad tracks in St. Louis Park, authorities said.

There is no immediate word on what led to the death or the person's gender or approximate age.

The shrouded body was behind Angstrom Analytical Inc., 5001 Cedar Lake Road.

"There were no reports of suspicious activity" in the time leading up to the body's discovery, said city spokesman Jamie Zwilling.

Someone at the business called 911 about 11:45 a.m. to report "what they thought was a body next to the railroad tracks," Zwilling added.

The body has remained on a grassy area near the tracks well into the afternoon as the Hennepin County medical examiner's office prepared to remove it as part of the investigation, Zwilling said.

The death is being "investigated as a crime" and not as an accident or suicide because it was cloaked in the sheet, Zwilling added.
