Nick Leddy of the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks is bringing the hallowed trophy to his hometown of Eden Prairie on Friday.

Leddy, who starred for the Eden Prairie Eagles and was Mr. Hockey after his senior season, will sign autographs for fans and pose for photographs with them and the silver chalice from noon to 2 p.m. at the high school's home rink in the Community Center.

Mayor Nancy Trya-Lukens will introduce Leddy to the crowd. From there, he'll answer questions about all things hockey — from his days as a Class AA state champion in 2009 to playing for the Minnesota Gophers to helping the Blackhawks defeat the Boston Bruins in a thrilling Game 6 on June 24.

As other NHL champions have done for many years, the 22-year-old Leddy, his teammates and others in the Blackhawks organization are each given a day or so to do with the Cup as they wish.

The Cup has been to mountaintops in Europe, small-town parades in Canada and sports bars in America, among other places.
