Surgery for one Wright County crash victim; church visitation for another

On the same day that one Wright County is scheduled for surgery, another will be remembered at a church gathering.

Visitation for Madeysen Kleve, 18, of Howard Lake, is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Kacie Carlsted, 18, of Howard Lake, is scheduled for surgery today at St. Cloud Hospital, and additional surgery is anticipated Tuesday, her family says in its latest Caring Bridge website journal entry.

Kleve, Carlsted, Mitchell Bayerl, 18, of Silver Lake, and Brie Barfknecht, 17, of Waverly, were returning from a track meet Wednesday evening, when they collided with a pickup truck at an intersection near Annandale. Bayerl was seriously hurt. Barfknecht, the driver, was only slightly hurt.

The four were seniors at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School, which held its graduation ceremonies Sunday.
