A Minneapolis man suffered minor injuries Sunday when the private helicopter he was piloting burned upon landing in Corcoran, authorities said.
The helicopter was destroyed in the fire at a private residence in the 19600 block of County Circle E. at about 10:30 a.m., said Maj. Tracey Martin of the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
Nils T. Svard, 68, who had flown to see his grandchildren in Corcoran and encountered mechanical problems while landing, was helped out of the helicopter and treated at the scene for very minor burns, Martin said.
The fire was quickly extinguished, Martin said. Its cause remains under investigation.
