Want to buy a tandem bicycle, a dozen paddleboats, assorted golf clubs or a deer stand?
Three Rivers Park District will auction those items and more this week as it cleans out its lost-and-found closet.
Boe Carlson, associate superintendent of Three Rivers, said the system has the auction once a year. People leave all sorts of things in parks, he said, and the district sells the unclaimed gear.
Three Rivers owns and operates 21 parks, park reserves and other special areas, mostly in suburban Hennepin County, and a network of about 120 miles of regional trails.
The auction list includes 28 bicycles, a rental canoe and kayak, 150 pairs of ski goggles, four tents, two child bike trailers, and miscellaneous small tools and equipment.
The district also will sell some of its own used equipment that is no longer needed.
That includes a half-dozen all-terrain vehicles, a dozen mowers, a cargo van, three pickup trucks, and various other blowers, trailers, groomers and utility carts.
The auction will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Fred W. Radde & Sons Auction Center in New Germany.
