The Mall of America has reopened the north entrance to the West parking deck, which had been closed for more than a week after it was damaged during an accident that killed one person.

A concrete and steel beam fell from part of the ramp near the Nordstrom store Aug. 3 when the driver of a U-Haul rental truck hit it. The beam fell on the truck's cab and killed the driver, Raheem Waheed, 52. Two other people in the truck were injured.

Crews have made repairs and the ramp is structurally sound, Dan Jasper, a spokesman for the Bloomington mall, said Sunday.
