A 4-year-old boy was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after falling out of a third-story apartment building window earlier in the day.
Orono police said the boy fell about 25 feet to the ground about 10:15 a.m. He was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. His condition was not immediately known, said Chief Correy Farniok.
The boy had been playing in the living room when he fell through the window, which was open but had a screen on it, Farniok said.
First responders conducted CPR on the boy when they arrived at Lakeview Lofts at 4100 Spring St. in Spring Park, Farniok said.
Police are investigating, but Farniok said the incident is considered an accident.
Crews from the Mound police and fire departments and the Hennepin County Water Patrol also responded to the call.
