Driver killed in freeway ramp accident is identified

The driver who died after speeding and weaving while on a north metro freeway ramp was identified Tuesday as Samuel F. Schumm of Golden Valley.

Schumm, 23, was on the ramp from northbound Interstate Hwy. 494 to eastbound I-94 Friday night when his vehicle rolled, the State Patrol said.

Schumm, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his sedan. He was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at North Memorial Medical Center.
