A ruby and diamond necklace along with another gold necklace featuring an emerald pendant with pearls are missing from an  Edina residence, and police are asking for help in finding the items and the thieves.

The Edina Crime Prevention Fund is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary that took place during daytime hours Jan. 28, said Molly Anderson, a police spokeswoman.

Several other gold necklaces, bracelets and antique jewelry from India valued at $150,000 were stolen as were cash, traveler's checks and "negotiable instruments" valued at $200,000.

Anderson said there are no suspects at this time, but police are looking for a gold or metallic color minivan that was seen in the area at the time of burglary, which took place between 8 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. in the Countryside neighborhood.

Anderson said the robbery might be connected with a similar incident in which ornate Indian jewelry was recently stolen in Woodbury.
