Boats collide in Anoka County

Officials said the boat that was hit was a total loss, but the accident resulted in only minor injuries.

A boat towing a couple skiers collided with a stationary boat Saturday afternoon on Lake George in Oak Grove, destroying the boat that was struck but causing only minor injuries to people on board.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the operator of the boat with the skiers was looking back and didn't see the other boat, which contained seven people. The ski boat went over the top of the stationary boat, officials said.
The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m.
Two passengers on the stationary boat were treated for cuts. Officials said that alcohol didn't figure in the accident, just inattentive operation.
