A popular Rockford restaurant was gutted by fire Thursday afternoon.

At about 3:30 p.m., firefighters from a multitude of departments responded to a call reporting the roof of the Cowboyz Bar and Grill at 6030 Main Street in the western metro exurb was on fire, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office.

When crews arrived, they found smoke pouring from the building. Crews from Loretto, Hanover, Buffalo, Maple Plain, Delano and Rockford helped put out the fire.

The fire was contained to the building, which was destroyed, the sheriff's office said. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
