One year after the Golden Valley Menards store was torn down, a new one has reopened in its place.
The new Mega Store, located at 6800 Wayzata Blvd., was reopening Tuesday. The company, which operates about three dozen stores in Minnesota, modeled the Golden Valley store after a similar two-level store in St. Paul.
"We can't wait for everyone to see all the great departments, fabulous displays, full-service lumberyard, beautiful new garden center, wide aisles for shopping convenience and much more," said Steve Gossen, manager of the Golden Valley store.
After a brief closure for remodeling, Eden Prairie's Old Chicago restaurant will officially reopen Monday.
The Eden Prairie restaurant, located at 12300 Singletree Lane, is the first Old Chicago location in the nation to undergo this rebranding effort.
Among the menu changes: a new tavern-style thin-crust pizza, double the salad selections, new appetizers and soups and a line of Panini sandwiches.
The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its "Golden Apple Awards" honoring businesses and individuals who make outstanding contributions to education.
The chamber also plans to present an award for an outstanding project that benefitted students during the past school year.
Nominations are due by 4 p.m. March 30.
