A former Twin Cities teacher has been accused of threatening to blow up two high schools, according to charges filed Wednesday.

Robert Christopher Baker, 50, of Maple Grove, was charged with a felony count of terroristic threats in connection with an entry posted on his Facebook account Monday; it depicted a cartoon figure holding what looked like a rocket launcher accompanied by the words "FIRST we'll blow up OSSEO SENIOR. Then, we'll blow up MAPLE GROVE SENIOR."

A concerned parent reported the Facebook post after his teenage daughter noticed it.

According to the criminal complaint, Baker admitted to police that he had posted the cartoon and threat because he was angry that he had been fired from the school district. He told police he wanted to blow up the schools when the students weren't there, the complaint said.

Baker had previously been banned from school district property after making offensive and obscene statements about district employees and students, including threats against staff and their children, according to the complaint.

He is being held in Hennepin County jail.
