YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
Friday's scheduled preliminary hearing for former Robbinsdale girls' hockey coach Nathan Antrim was continued to Jan. 10 while Antrim works to gather enough money to hire Minneapolis defense attorney Steve Meshbesher.
Antrim was charged earlier this month with third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old female player.
Noting that Antrim's first court appearance Dec. 10 was postponed for the same reason, Judge Jack Nordby warned him, "I won't continue this case indefinitely. You should be working on getting an attorney. Don't come in here for your next appearance and say you don't have a lawyer."
Antrim spoke little, only affirming that he understood the conditions of his bail and assuring the judge that he was close to raising the funds to hire Meshbesher.
For his part, Meshbesher noted outside the courtroom that he knows Antrim's family and that he still is learning the details of the case, but that it appears that the alleged sexual contact was "consensual."
