St. Paul residents should pay attention to the temporary "No Parking" signs that will be going up in neighborhoods starting this week.

City crews will be doing their annual spring street sweeping, and residents will need to park their vehicles elsewhere to avoid a tag and a tow.

The signs should be posted at least 24 hours before the sweeper is due to roll down the street.

The work to finish cleaning all 871 miles of city streets will take about a month. The sweeping is to get the crud left over from winter off the road and to keep it from getting into storm sewers and ending up in lakes and rivers, according to the Public Works department.
