Eagan woman hit by car in St. Paul dies

Last update: November 10, 2009 - 10:43 PM

A 20-year-old Eagan woman died after being struck by a car in St. Paul on Monday night, authorities said today.

Alexandria J. Mardell apparently was unaware a vehicle was approaching when she stepped onto W. 7th Street near James Avenue, police spokesman Sgt. Paul Schnell said.

He said that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, and that no citations were issued.

The car was driven by a 33-year-old Eagan woman.

The accident is under investigation, Schnell said.
