Man who fled, fought with cops pleads guilty

Last update: November 4, 2009 - 8:25 PM

A man who led police on a freeway chase between Minneapolis and St. Paul and then onto residential streets in St. Paul in September pleaded guilty Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court to fleeing police, a felony.

Cary Dorsey, 18, fought with officers when they tried to arrest him early Sept. 22 in the 1400 block of Albermarle Street. His blood got on several officers. One officer was scratched and had to take a 28-day course of medication to combat a potential HIV infection. That officer continued to work during his treatment.

Dorsey will be sentenced Dec. 22 by District Judge John Guthmann.
