St. Paul park to close for deer hunt

Last update: October 21, 2009 - 8:53 AM

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Paul's Crosby Farm Regional Park will be closed to the public twice this fall as archers thin a deer herd.

The city's Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with the Metro Bowhunters Resource Base to manage the deer population in the Highland Park area.

A special permit archery hunt will be held in Crosby Farm Regional Park from Oct. 19-21 and from Nov. 9-11. The park will be closed to the public those days.

It's the second year a hunt has been held in the park. Archers already have been selected for this year's hunt.
