A man who reportedly shot himself during a four-hour standoff with St. Paul police on Friday has died, police said.
He was taken to Regions Hospital about 7 p.m. Friday after what began as a domestic incident in the 400 block of Jessamine Avenue E.
Police said then that the man was armed and considered suicidal.
A SWAT team was called in, and neighbors and students at a nearby school were evacuated.
Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Paulos said Sunday night that the man later died, but he did not know when.
The man's name has not been released.
