Masked man robs St. Paul bank as it opens

A masked man ambushed a St. Paul bank employee as the bank was being opened Monday, pushing the teller who was unlocking the front door, demanding money and then emptying cash drawers before fleeing, authorities said.

The robbery of the U.S. Bank at 1950 Burns Av. occurred about 6:50 a.m., the FBI said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200, St. Paul police or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
