The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra will welcome new artistic partner Martin Fröst, bid farewell to old partner Christian Zacharias and premiere a new piano concerto inspired by Beethoven's concertos during its 2015-16 season — its first full year in the new Ordway Concert Hall.

The schedule, announced at midnight Wednesday, also includes a November tour of Asia with clarinetist Fröst, with stops in Taipei, Taiwan; Singapore; and Jakarta, Indonesia, sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Fröst was introduced last October to enthusiastic audiences. The 44-year-old Swede makes his debut as an artistic partner Nov. 11-12 with the world premiere of his Genesis project, which includes works from Telemann, Schumann, Brahms and Bartók. He will return Feb. 27-28 to play Mozart's clarinet concerto and to lead "Appalachian Spring." He will play and conduct March 4-6 on a program with Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite and Anders Hillborg's clarinet concerto.

Zacharias, the German pianist, will perform three weekends in the spring of 2016. On April 29-May 1, he will play Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24. The following weekend, he will conduct Haydn, Gluck's Suite from "Orfeo and Eurydice" and play Mozart's ninth piano concerto. In his final performance, May 13-14, Zacharias will perform Chopin's second piano concerto.

Another pianist/artistic partner opens the season. Pianist Jeremy Denk plays Stravinsky, Gershwin and Ives on Sept. 10, 12 and 13, then brings in Bach piano concertos (Nos. 2 and 4) Sept. 18-19. Denk will return Jan 8-10 with Haydn, Shostakovich and Dvorák.

Flutist Claire Chase makes her SPCO debut on Oct. 31 with a special program featuring Salvatore Sciarrino's "Cutting the Circle of Sounds" for 104 flutists — four soloists and 100 "migrating flutes" who dip in and out of the soundscape.

Violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, who began as an artistic partner last season, plays the Beethoven violin concerto and a world premiere by composer Michael Hersch Nov. 6-7.

Pianist Jonathan Biss plays with the SPCO Nov. 27-29 in a program that features a new concerto by composer Timo Andres and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2. Mischa Santora conducts.

Bach's Brandenburg Concertos will be highlighted for the holiday season, with performances Dec. 10-12. Handel's "Messiah" will follow Dec. 17-19.

Violinist Veronika Eberle plays Mozart, Ligeti and a new co-commission by Derek Bermel in four concerts Jan. 22-24. Another violinist, the highly regarded Pekka Kuusisto, will play Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 on April 2-3.

SPCO violinists Ruggero Allifranchini and Kyu-Young Kim are featured in Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," April 22-24.

Artistic partner Thomas Zehetmair will conduct Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony May 19-22. He also will play Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3.

Kopatchinskaja closes the season June 10-12 with a program featuring Spanish folk songs and flamenco dance. One of the genre's leading dancers, Fuensanta "La Moneta" Fresneda Galera, will perform the world premiere of Mauricio Sotelo's "Inner Red Light Sculpture" for solo violin, strings and flamenco dancer.
