Last update: August 22, 2008 - 7:08 AM

An altercation between man and other bar patrons may have led to an early-morning stabbing, police said.

Officers were called around 1:40 a.m. to the 600 block of Dale Street where they found a 24-year-old man who had been stabbed numerous times in the back.

The victim has been removed from Malina's Bar shortly before the incident, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene, then taken to Regions Hospital.

Officers and K-9 dogs searched for the attacker but efforts were unsuccessful. Police are asking anybody with information to contact them at 651-291-1111 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
