The St. Paul City Council is expected to approve a $10,000 settlement with a man whose vehicle was struck more than three years ago by a police squad car.

Warajor Ojulu sued the city and police officer Monte J. Stonewall last year, seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for "serious and permanent injuries to his body, permanent disfigurement, medical expenses," economic loss, and pain and suffering.

Ojulu's suit did not specify his injuries.

According to the suit, Ojulu was driving north on Westminster Street on Feb. 2, 2011, when his car collided with a squad car driven by Stonewall.

The suit did not provide additional details about how the collision occurred, but alleged that Stonewall acted with "negligence and carelessness."

The council will vote on the settlement at its Wednesday meeting. The city does not admit any wrongdoing in the accident, according to the settlement agreement.
