The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office has launched a Web service that allows citizens to search for active arrest warrant information.
The Online Warrant Search is aimed at providing information about wanted violent fugitives, and as a resource for people to check whether they have arrest warrants for nonviolent offenses.
Arrest warrants are issued by Ramsey County District Court. They are processed by the sheriff's office, which has taken calls from citizens checking on their own status for minor offenses, including probation violation.
The site includes public information, and warns residents not to attempt any arrests.
