An 11-year-old boy's condition was improving Monday after he was struck by a vehicle as he ran into a dark street in St. Paul.
Touger Lor was hit about 10:30 p.m. Friday as he tried to cross Arlington Avenue near DeSoto Street.
The driver, a 32-year-old St. Paul man, exhibited "obvious signs of intoxication," police said. He was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal vehicular operation but later released pending further investigation, police spokesman Peter Panos said Monday.
Panos said the boy was not in a crosswalk.
His condition is serious, an upgrade from critical, said John Barrett of Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul.
