Authorities have recovered the body of a man who was found this morning floating in the Mississippi River, police said.

Peter Panos, a spokesman for the St. Paul Police department, did not release the name of the man pending notification of family. But he did say the victim is a 43-year-old man who had been reported missing.

No foul play is suspected in his death, Panos said.

The body was discovered around 8:35 a.m. near Holman Field, St. Paul's downtown airport. An employee of Upper River Services, a barge and towboat repair and maintenance facility near the Lafayette Bridge, spotted the body and called police.

The St. Paul Fire Department and the Ramsey County Water Patrol pulled the body from the water about 30 minutes later.
